Before the After - The Indianapolis Ford Assembly Plant
The Ford Assembly Plant on East Washington Street was used to assemble over a half-million Ford Model T's and Model A's before shutting down in 1932. In 2017, a project was initiated to revive the building back to its function and glory. Here is a view of the fourth floor of the assembly plant, that originally had large sky lights for natural lighting and an open center atrium to illuminate the lower floors and enable movement of components between floors. These two features will be restored in the revived building.
